Who we are

The term “Bengali” refers to people who were born and raised, or otherwise have a strong association with, the state of West Bengal in India and the neighboring country of Bangladesh. BARI of New England is an organization that is deeply committed to fostering connections and building bridges between the Bengali community and the wider population in Rhode Island. BARI was founded with the mission of preserving Bengali heritage while promoting cultural exchange, and we hope to become a vibrant part of the community through events that bring people together across cultural lines.

BARI has been organizing Saraswati Puja, Bijoya Sammelani and other seasonal get-togethers for several years. We welcome you to attend one or more of these.
